Frequently Asked Questions
Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Card Members will earn $1 MQD for each $10 of purchases on their Card or any Additional Cards on the Card Account during a Qualification Year. Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Platinum Business American Express Card Members will earn $1 MQD for each $20 of purchases on their Card or any Additional Cards on the Card Account during a Qualification Year.
Example: If you purchase a Delta- or partner-operated flight with your Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card, you’ll be rewarded with $1 MQD for each $10 of ticket price spent on your Card (awarded after purchase), as well as the MQDs earned with Delta on the flight (awarded after completion of travel).
Plus, with the MQD Headstart benefit, Delta SkyMiles Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Card Members can get a head start on MQDs toward the then-Current Qualification Year with $2,500 MQDs awarded 6 to 8 weeks after February 1 of each Medallion Year if their Card is still active. New Card Members or Card Members upgrading to an eligible Card will see their MQD Headstart applied approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the issuance of the Card, and in future years on or after February 1.
Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do not include fees, interest charges, cash advances, purchases of travelers' checks, person-to-person transactions, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards or purchases of other cash equivalents.
MQDs earned on eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards cannot be transferred, assigned or gifted to other Members. Additional eligible Cards will earn MQDs on purchases, and these MQDs will only be credited to the Basic Card Member’s SkyMiles account.
Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Card Members – both Basic and Additional – will receive 15 annual Club visits until the Basic and Additional card holders collectively make $75,000 in purchases and unlock unlimited access for the remainder of that year though January 31 of the next Medallion Year. Spend tracking starts in 2026 for the 2027 Medallion Year.
For example, if a Card Member reaches $75,000 in purchases on August 1 2026, they would unlock unlimited Delta Sky Club Visit Access until January 31, 2028
With the Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Reserve Cards, the Companion Certificate will be made available for redemption on delta.com each year after renewal. If your account anniversary month changes for any reason (for example, due to a card replacement), your Companion Certificate will be issued within your new renewal month.

MQDs earned on eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards cannot be transferred, assigned or gifted to other Members. Additional eligible Cards will earn MQDs on purchases, and these MQDs will only be credited to the Basic Card Member's SkyMiles account.
Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Card Members — both Basic and Additional — will receive 15 annual Club visits until the Basic and Additional Card holders collectively make $75,000 in purchases and unlocks unlimited access for the remainder of that year through January 31 of the next Medallion Year. Spend tracking starts in 2026 for the 2027 Medallion Year.
